The new Maserati Grecale slots in under its larger Levante SUV sibling. It can be ordered with a buyer’s choice of two engines. Start with the 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 cylinder mild-hybrid engine. It’s what powers the Grecale GT and Modena models. This engine delivers 296 horsepower in the Grecale GT. On the Grecale Modena, its output jumps to 325 horsepower. There’s 332 lb-ft of torque and all-wheel drive is standard on both models. The high-line Grecale Trofeo model features a brutish 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine. It’s a slammer, putting out 523 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque.
Both engines are matched to eight-speed automatic transmissions. These engines do their best to maintain a sporting Italian vibe that you just can’t find in other vehicles. And just to keep things interesting, for 2024, the Grecale will be also appear as the all-electric Folgore (Lightning) model. An air suspension system is standard on the Trofeo model and optional on the Modena trim level.
THOUGHTFUL INTERIOR CRAFTSMANSHIP
The new Grecale is gifted with a best-in-class interior that can accommodate a driver and passenger over six feet tall in the front row. Those just under that fit nicely in the second row. There’s leather all around, along with carbon fiber and exotic woods.
Since the Grecale is so special to the brand, Maserati loaded it with technology. Start with a 12.3-inch display screen in the center console, and an 8.8-inch climate control display just below that. Add a high-end Sonus faber Italian audio design audio system. The 12.3-inch screen is the largest ever found in a Maserati and the audio system is peerless in its sound quality and definition.
